La Fete des Lumières

The second-largest city in France is called Lyon. It is situated at a river confluence about 56 kilometers northeast of Saint-Étienne, 320 kilometers north of Marseille, and 470 kilometers south of Paris. Because of its stunning natural surroundings and lovely settings, Lyon has been named one of the most attractive cities in France. The city is renowned for its gastronomy, historical, and architectural attractions, as well as its cuisine. The exquisite Basilica Notre-Dame de Fourvière is a white church decorated with mosaics and stained glass that is perched atop Fourvière hill.

A bell tower with a gilded statue of the Virgin Mary is a feature of the distinctive architecture. On the Saône River's left bank stands a monument known as the Ancient Theatre of Fourvière. The theater includes a decorated stage, sloping seating galleries, and the framework for a sizable stage that may hold up to 10,000 spectators. Traboules, charming Renaissance corridors that wind beneath buildings and toward the Saône River, are famed in Lyon. It was designed to shield delicate fabrics like silk from bad weather as it was being moved from one place to another.
