Arc de Triomphe

We loved visiting the Arc de Triomphe! It is a stunning and architecturally elegant landmark with incredible attention to detail. Standing beneath the massive arch and seeing the beautiful sculptures and intricate carvings up close was truly impressive. The location also offers a wonderful perspective of Paris and the famous avenues that radiate from the monument. It is an iconic part of the city and definitely worth visiting when in Paris. Highly recommended!

The Arc de Triomphe was probably the highlight of my recent trip to Paris. Photos really don't do it justice. I arrived about an hour and a half before sunset and ended up spending nearly three hours at the top - worth every minute. From the rooftop you can really appreciate the layout of the Place de l'Étoile, with twelve grand avenues radiating out from the Arc in a perfect star. The 360-degree view takes in Montmartre and the Sacré-Cœur to the north, the Eiffel Tower across the river, and the Champs-Élysées running straight out below. In the opposite direction, the Avenue de la Grande Armée leads out towards the towers of La Défense. Watching the light change over the city as the sun went down and Paris lit up was unforgettable, as was the sunset over La Défense. At €22, with no limit on how long you can stay at the top, it's probably unbeatable. Just below the rooftop is a souvenir shop well worth browsing. Unlike the cheap trinkets in most tourist shops, it stocks some genuinely good-quality souvenirs, books, maps… Once back at ground level, I stopped for a long while at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the eternal flame. It's a quiet, deeply moving spot, and a fitting reminder of the sacrifices the monument commemorates. The site is clean, well organised and easy to get around. Whatever your interest: history, architecture or simply seeing Paris from one of its best vantage points, I'd recommend timing your visit for sunset and giving yourself plenty of time up top. I will definitely be back.

The panoramic view of Paris is breathtaking, especially with the famous Champs-Élysées stretching out below and the Eiffel Tower visible in the distance. It’s the perfect place to take unforgettable photos and admire the beauty of the city from above. I also found the history behind the monument fascinating. The eternal flame and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier add a deeply respectful and emotional atmosphere that reminds visitors of the sacrifices made throughout history. The entire site is well organized, clean, and easy to visit. Whether you’re interested in history, architecture, or simply want to experience one of the most famous landmarks in the world, the Arc de Triomphe is a must-see. I would happily visit again and highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Paris.

No words can really express the happiness of finally being at the Arc de Triomphe. I got down at the Champs-Élysées – Clemenceau metro station and walked straight towards it. It was such an amazing feeling to see something in real life that I had only seen in textbooks and pictures before. Standing right in front of it felt almost unreal. The roads around the Arc de Triomphe are extremely busy, with vehicles passing from all directions, so you need to be very careful while crossing. I went with a friend who helped me take a few pictures. It was actually fun to see so many people waiting for the traffic signal to turn red so they could stand in the middle of the road and take pictures with the Arc de Triomphe in the background. The Champs-Élysées is also one of the most famous and lively streets in Paris. You can find many luxury brands here, including the famous Louis Vuitton store. There are benches along the street where people can sit and relax. The roads are very wide, with separate spaces for pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles. The trees on both sides make the whole place look even more beautiful. If you get the chance, I would definitely suggest visiting the Arc de Triomphe at night. The whole place looks completely different when it is lit up. Paris, as they say, is a different experience altogether.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ A magnificent Paris landmark, but a disappointing missed opportunity at the top! 🇫🇷 The Arc de Triomphe is an absolute masterpiece of architecture and one of the most impressive monuments in Paris. Its grand scale, intricate sculptures, beautifully carved reliefs, and intricate detailing make it worth stopping to admire. Standing beneath this monumental arch, surrounded by the energy of the busy Champs-Élysées and the famous Place Charles de Gaulle, gives you a real sense of Parisian history and grandeur. Unfortunately, our visit in June coincided with a heatwave, and access to the top of the monument was closed to the public despite having booked our tickets in advance. It was disappointing to miss out on the panoramic views of Paris that we had been looking forward to, especially after making a prior reservation. Nevertheless, the exterior alone is spectacular and offers plenty of opportunities for photographs. If you’re visiting Paris, this landmark definitely deserves a place on your itinerary. However, I would recommend checking the official website for weather-related closures before your visit, even if you already have a ticket. A stunning piece of French history and architecture, but be prepared for possible disruptions during extreme weather.
