We really liked the area where the palace is located — it's central, yet still has a laidback, local atmosphere. Tickets are quite expensive for tourists (35 euros), but it was worth the price. The palace itself is huge and beautiful, and it really feels like a place fit for royals. Inside, you'll find gardens, museums, and cafés, and we ended up spending almost half a day there. I also came across some really nice art pieces in the museum. Overall, I'd highly recommend both this area and the palace!

I visited Dolmabahçe Palace right at opening time (9:00 AM), and I highly recommend coming early to avoid crowds. The ticket price for foreigners was 2000 TRY. I explored both the Selamlık (male section) and the Harem (female section), and everything was absolutely stunning. The palace is incredibly beautiful — the architecture, interiors, and views are truly breathtaking. It feels like stepping into another era. After visiting the palace, I recommend taking a walk through the gardens — they are peaceful and well-maintained. I also visited the National Palaces Painting Museum, which is definitely worth it. Inside, there is a small café where you can have coffee and enjoy some desserts. It took me about 1.5 hours to explore the palace comfortably. Afterward, I spent some time outside taking photos near the gates, enjoying the flowers, and I even saw a beautiful swan. The whole atmosphere was very enjoyable.

Dolmabahçe Palace is one of the most stunning places I have ever visited. The architecture is truly stunning and out of this world. The massive chandeliers were some of the best beautiful things that I have ever seen in real life. The views of the Bosphorus are also spectacular. Highly recommend. 10/10 experience! Come early to avoid long queue. Construction during Ottoman Era. 1843 – Construction begins under Sultan Abdülmecid I. 1856 – Palace officially completed. It replaces Topkapı Palace as the main administrative center of the Ottoman Empire. 1923 – Establishment of the Republic of Turkey. The palace becomes state property. 1927–1938 – Mustafa Kemal Atatürk uses Dolmabahçe as his presidential residence in Istanbul.

From the moment you leave Beşiktaş Ferry Terminal and start following the signs to Dolmabahçe Palace, the walk itself becomes part of the experience. The route is easy to follow, and the beautiful tree-lined promenade along the Bosphorus creates a peaceful atmosphere that makes you want to slow down and enjoy every step. As you get closer, the palace gradually reveals itself, making the arrival even more impressive. Its elegant architecture, magnificent halls, and remarkable attention to detail make it one of Istanbul's most memorable landmarks. Every room reflects exceptional craftsmanship and timeless beauty. One of the highlights is the waterfront in front of the palace. Looking across the Bosphorus while seeing İnönü Stadium nearby creates a fascinating contrast between Istanbul's historical heritage and its vibrant modern life. The gardens are beautifully maintained, and the entire area invites you to take your time, enjoy the scenery, and simply soak in the atmosphere. Dolmabahçe Palace is not just a place to visit—it's a place to experience. I highly recommend allowing yourself enough time to explore both the palace and its surroundings, as the journey there is just as enjoyable as the destination itself.
