We heard stories from other travellers where their drivers would take them to areas where “their friends” would give discounted goods or attractions - this appeared to be a scam.\n\nWith Janaka he always prepared us for what to avoid and ensured we paid local prices for things where possible. At times we had some difficulty with his English but we were able to manage and this was by no means a barrier to our experience.
