Cu Chi Tunnels & Mekong Delta – An Unforgettable Experience! An absolutely wonderful experience that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Vietnam! Our day began with a luxurious, spotless van picking us up directly from our hotel and taking us to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels. I didn't know much about the Vietnam War beforehand, but this visit sparked my curiosity and made me want to learn so much more about this important part of history. Exploring the entire site was fascinating. We went inside the tunnels and learned how people hid, lived, and even cooked underground, so many metres below the surface. It was incredible to discover how they managed to survive under such extraordinary conditions. We also had the opportunity to try shooting a pistol and a rifle, which added a unique and exciting dimension to the experience. We then continued our journey to the Mekong Delta, where we enjoyed a lovely boat trip and visited Coconut Island. We had the opportunity to discover local products and purchase them directly from the source, making the experience even more authentic. One of the absolute highlights was travelling along the river in a small traditional boat, surrounded by the beautiful scenery. It was a truly special moment and an image I will never forget. A perfect combination of history, adventure, culture, and authentic Vietnamese life. Highly recommended

Cu Chi Tunnels is an extremely interesting and meaningful place to visit. There are two main sites, Bến Đình and Bến Dược, managed by Cu Chi and the central government (Sai Gon) respectively. While both sites share the same core tour content, such as the historical documentary film, explanations of tunnel structures, different room types, and the reasons the tunnels were built, the overall experience at each site has some differences. At both locations, the tour provides very detailed and vivid information about life underground. You can see how narrow and complex the tunnels are and even crawl through a short section yourself, which really helps you understand how challenging life was. The displays of traps, weapons, and manufacturing processes feel very real, giving a strong sense of how people lived, fought, and survived. Visitors can also try traditional wartime food such as boiled manioc with salt and sesame, and experience firing replica guns similar to those used during that period. At Bến Đình, as a Vietnamese visitor or if you understand Vietnamese at a high level, you only need to buy a normal entrance ticket. There are free guided tours in Vietnamese that run periodically. You just need to ask the staff at the entrance. There is no need to purchase an additional tour guide ticket. This surprised and impressed me quite a lot, as the explanations were detailed and well organized. At Bến Dược, guided tours are provided by default, so the experience feels more structured from the beginning. In addition to the main tunnel tour, Bến Dược offers deeper insight into civilian life before and during the war. One of the most impressive highlights is the large sand table display with lights, smoke effects, and storytelling, showing how the liberation zones were formed, how intense the bombings were, and what people had to endure. I also watched a 3D film that powerfully illustrated the impact of bombs on the land and on human lives. Bến Dược is also home to the Bến Dược Temple, a memorial dedicated to honoring the soldiers and civilians who sacrificed their lives in the resistance wars. Visiting the temple offers a quiet and reflective space to pay respect, read the names and stories of those who were lost, and better understand the human cost behind the history presented in the tunnels. It adds an important emotional and cultural dimension to the visit and helps complete the overall experience. Beyond the historical exhibitions, Bến Dược also has more interactive and recreational activities such as paintball shooting, swimming, and cultural performances, making it suitable for both education and hands on experiences. Overall, everything felt incredibly real and impactful right in front of my eyes. Củ Chi Tunnels is not just a historical site. It is a powerful reminder of resilience, creativity, and survival. I truly loved this place and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to understand an important part of Vietnam’s history.

If you truly desire to connect with the authentic history of Vietnam and gain a deep, firsthand understanding of the monumental events that unfolded here—and how the American forces encountered their first major historical defeat—this is an absolute must-visit destination on your Vietnamese journey. Descending into these tight, hand-dug underground tunnels allows you to walk through history itself and breathe the very air that sustained the resilient Vietnamese fighters. Exploring this complex network offers a rare, immersive glimpse into the extraordinary courage, tactical ingenuity, and sheer determination of a nation that adapted to impossible conditions. As you navigate the dim passageways, you will discover how an entire community lived, strategically planned, and survived beneath the jungle floor against overwhelming firepower. It is not merely a sight to behold, but a profound sensory experience that challenges your perspective on resilience and human endurance. Skipping this historic landmark would mean missing the beating heart of Vietnam’s modern heritage. To truly comprehend the spirit of the land and its people, stepping foot inside these legendary tunnels is an unmissable adventure that will stay with you long after your trip concludes.

The tunnels and grounds are an extremely meaningful visit. There is a ton of history and educational experience here, a new perspective into the war first hand. A must visit while in Vietnam. It is approximately 2 hours from HCM but there are plenty of guided tours going. Our tour guide was full of knowledgeable information. It is super hot and a bit crowded, but the visit was still a must. Being able to shoot there was another unique experience, fair pricing for ammunition. Climbing through the tunnel system is a very unique experience as well, it’s amazing just how small they are.

Amazing experience. The attention to detail in the preservation and reenactment of this historical site is incredible. The tunnels themselves, although modified for tourists, are a fascinating experience. For those scared of enclosed spaces, like myself, there are wider tunnels to go through and interesting artefacts on the surface so no one misses out. I recommend bringing wet wipes because, naturally, you will get a lot of dirt on your skin and clothes. The tunnels are very hot inside so I recommend cool clothes. Special shoutout to our tour guide Nikki, she did an amazing job and I cannot recommend her more. Unfortunately I did not get any photos of the tunnels themselves, even more of a surprise for when you get there!
