Hon Thom Cable Car and 3 Island Hopping Trip by Boat

The Hòn Thơm cable car in Phu Quoc is widely promoted online, so I decided it was something I shouldn’t miss. After reading some reviews, I bought the ticket online in advance, which turned out to be a good decision because entering the station was quick and convenient. However, the service experience was mixed. Right after the entrance, staff directed us to stand in front of a green screen and quickly took two photos without explaining much. It felt rushed and unnecessary, and the photos later looked poorly edited, so we had no interest in buying them. Boarding the cable car was also stressful because the cabins did not fully stop. You have to step in quickly, which can feel unsafe, especially for older visitors or families with children. The ocean view during the ride is genuinely beautiful and matches the images you see online. But when looking toward the island side, the contrast is obvious. From above, you can see residential areas and waste along the coast, which reflects a larger trash problem that Phu Quoc seems to be facing. Sun World itself felt very commercial and still under heavy construction. Many areas looked unfinished, with empty buildings and ongoing development across the island. One important warning: if you plan to leave close to 5 PM, expect a long and chaotic queue. When we returned around 4:30 PM, there was almost no queue management and very little security presence. People were pushing forward, and at one point a serious fight broke out in the line right in front of families and children. Staff response was slow and passive, which made the situation uncomfortable. The cable car view is impressive, but the experience overall could be improved with better service, crowd management, and more attention to environmental issues.

Cable car journey was spectacular. We went around 4pm. As a result car out was only the two of us. Great views. On way back car was full as park was closing. Even got a free beer as we left cable car station on island!

It was wonderful 20min experience (one-way)with the world longest cable car. I visited Ba Na Hills last summer and found Sun World is good at creating these kind of giant stuff. This was beyond my expectation and exciting to look out over the Phu Quoc's wonderful landscape from the cable car. I bought a ticket including cable car fee and entry fee of Hon Thom Nature Park. If you go to the Nature Park, you should be careful of the cable car operating time to get back. It's operated in limited hour. So you should check the time table which displays over the entrance gate of the cable car station.

The station directly opens into the aquatopia water park . Domt forget to collect the free beer or watermelon juice which is complimentary. While returning there is lot of crowd and the people tend to get very indiscipline and chaotic. So plan your exit accordingly

A spectacular, once-in-a-lifetime experience especially the cable ride over the sea. But treat it as a full-day outing (ride + island activities), not just a quick ride. Treat the ticket as your pass to a full-day outing on the island. If you only want a quick ride, you may feel the package is a bit heavy for the value. With same ticket you can enjoy cable-car ride + island entry + Exotica (roller coaster + amusement/water-park) + water-park. They also provide free juice or beer as a welcome drink. Temperature was quite hot (around 30–31°C), perfect for beach and water-park activities. Don’t forget to bring your swim suit you’ll definitely need it! It is not fully constructed yet, so some ongoing construction work can be seen around.
