Very culturally informative. Displays are cool to be able to get up close to real aircraft. You dont often get upclose with a space shuttle, concord, submarine and ww2 Aircraft carrier all in one place. Displays are well thought out and easily accessible. The info is informative and staff are friendly and eager to answer any questions. The veterans have served their country proudly and it shows in how they tell authentic stories. Well worth spending a couple hours and listening. The ship is stable in the water and the displays are all air conditioned so you escape the heat.

There are a lot of activities to do that are worth the price. Definitely plan to visit for the whole day because of how much activities there are. They even have a small space exhibition and planes on the top deck. You can climb up and view the inside of the Intrepid, like where the sailors slept and the engine room. The lower area shows the dining area and has interviews from sailors who were actually on the Intrepid. There is also a section inside that is kid friendly and interactive. There is a submarine tour that is included with the ticket.

If you love anything air force/military related then you must come see this museum. This museum has the only nuclear-capable submarine that is on display and you can even enter the sub. The aircraft carrier portion is a semi open air museum that has quite a few different exhibits including the space shuttle exhibit. Some tips i would say is: 1. Book online if you can and if you wanna do the concorde guided tour that is every 30mins starting from 11am, book early online or ask for it at the ticketing counter. It is additional 15dollars. This one sells out very fast as well. 2. Go for the submarine tour first. The tour only allows a number of people through and the lines form really long as the day goes by. I was maybe 15 in line and waited almost 30mins. 3. Once done with that, go for the Intrpid island self guided walking tour, which is at the open air flight deck area. That also forms a line quick and moves slowly because its a one way tour. 4. Go for the rest of the exhibitions such as the hangar since these at your own pace type of viewing.

I love museums. I love WWII stuff even more. This is basically the biggest collection of both of those things. An actual aircraft carrier, complete with over a dozen planes from all around the world on the deck, and oh how could I forget THE SPACE SHUTTLE ENTERPRISE IS THERE!!! Also csnt forget the only nuclear submarine available for public tours in the US... and everything ive listed is covered in the basic ticket price. No hidden fees, no added costs. There is an added fee for touring the Concorde, but I passed on that this time... dont worry, I will definitely be back!

Can't rate it high enough. I loved it and my 8-year-old son thought it was the coolest place ever. Seriously, if you're in NYC, to need to go! Even if it was just the aircraft carrier, it would be worth the price. But there's also a submarine, the Concorde, and a space shuttle.
