⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently visited Jaisalmer Airport and had a very good experience. The airport was clean, well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere was comfortable. The staff was courteous and helpful, and the check-in and security process was smooth and well organized. The airport is also conveniently located for travelers visiting Jaisalmer and the nearby desert areas. Overall, a pleasant experience at Jaisalmer Airport. Looking forward to visiting again!

The airport is about 15 km from the city and sometimes taxis can be difficult to find, so I recommend pre-booking transfers. The rest of the cleaning is also very good.

A basic airport with an olden style experience of walking to the airport terminal from the flight on arrival. Limited flights operating but definitely a welcome lifeline to tourists and others planning to visit Jaisalmer and nearby towns. The sole restaurant in the airport departure terminal is truly mismanaged, unable to handle the crowd during flight time and needs a serious revamp. Being a defence airport there are restrictions but equally provides a delightful view of our defence flights. Staff are courteous.

Jaisalmer Airport is an important gateway to the historic city of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, often referred to as the "Golden City" of India. The airport plays a significant role in promoting tourism by providing convenient air connectivity for travelers visiting the region's famous forts, deserts, and cultural attractions. Its location makes it a practical choice for both domestic tourists and business travelers. One of the most attractive features of Jaisalmer Airport is its clean and well-maintained environment. The terminal is designed to provide a comfortable travel experience with basic passenger amenities, including seating areas, security facilities, baggage services, and information counters. The airport's relatively smaller size allows passengers to move through check-in and boarding procedures with ease. The airport is well connected to the city, and local transportation options such as taxis and private vehicles are available for travelers. Its convenient location helps visitors quickly reach popular attractions, including the famous Jaisalmer Fort, local markets, and the surrounding desert landscapes. The atmosphere at Jaisalmer Airport is generally calm and organized compared to larger metropolitan airports. This makes the travel experience more relaxed, especially for families and tourists who prefer less crowded terminals. The airport staff work to assist passengers and maintain efficient operations, contributing to a pleasant journey. Jaisalmer Airport also supports the local economy by encouraging tourism and business activities. Improved air connectivity has made it easier for visitors to explore the cultural heritage, traditional architecture, and natural beauty of the region, benefiting local businesses and the hospitality sector. Overall, Jaisalmer Airport is a valuable transportation facility that enhances the accessibility of one of Rajasthan's most iconic destinations. Its organized environment, essential passenger services, convenient connectivity, and contribution to regional tourism make it an important part of the city's infrastructure. Whether visiting for leisure, cultural exploration, or business, Jaisalmer Airport provides a comfortable and efficient starting point for a memorable journey to the Golden City.

Jaisalmer Airport (IATA JSA) offers a mixed experience for travellers heading to the heart of Rajasthan’s desert, and while it has definite advantages, it also comes with notable caveats. On the positive side, its location just about 12-15 km from the city centre of Jaisalmer makes it extremely convenient: arriving here means you can be in the city and exploring the famous fort and sand dunes in short order. The terminal infrastructure is modern and thoughtfully designed, with a single runway of 2,743 metres (9,000 ft) that can handle medium-sized aircraft, and a civil enclave built by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) that reflects the region’s architectural sensibilities. For tourists eager to explore the Thar Desert, the short transfer time from the airport to the city’s landmarks is a major plus. However, some aspects need careful consideration. Flight connectivity remains limited and appears seasonal — not all carriers serve Jaisalmer frequently, and in some months options may be very scarce or absent, meaning you might have to rely on ground travel from nearby airports instead. Indeed, several travellers have reported that bookings were difficult outside peak tourist windows. Additional amenities at the airport are modest: food outlets, shops, and lounges are fewer than larger hubs, and during quiet periods services may feel minimal. Ground-transport options are available but fares can be higher, especially given the remote location and low competition. On balance, if you’re visiting Jaisalmer during peak season and want the convenience of arriving close to the city, Jaisalmer Airport offers a strong choice. But if you’re travelling in off-peak months or require extensive connectivity and facilities, you may want to double-check flight schedules or consider alternative arrival points.
