An unforgettable, bucket-list experience in Paris! Visiting the Louvre was an absolute highlight of my trip to Paris! The sheer scale of the museum is mind-blowing, and the building itself a stunning former royal palace is just as much a masterpiece as the art inside. Looking up at the incredibly ornate, gilded ceilings and walking through the grand galleries felt surreal. Of course, seeing Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa in person was an unforgettable moment. Yes, the room is busy, but the line moves quickly and it is completely worth it. Beyond that, the Winged Victory of Samothrace standing tall at the top of the grand staircase and the beautiful Venus de Milo were absolutely breathtaking. My top tips for anyone visiting: 1. Book your tickets online well in advance to secure your time slot and bypass the massive ticket lines. 2. Wear your most comfortable walking shoes because the museum is massive and you will easily clock in thousands of steps. 3. Pick a few must-see pieces before you go, or you will get easily overwhelmed It is an absolute 5-star experience that you cannot miss when in Paris. Truly a journey through history and art!

I recommend buying tickets in advance and getting an early time slot, especially if you are coming during the summer. I got the audio guide and it was kind of nice but I really struggled to find the room number codes and therefore did not get much use out of it. I really enjoyed the artwork, especially the painting exhibits, but it is REALLY easy to get lost. We ended up doing a lot of walking in circles. Also sometimes you can only go in one direction, like in the room with the Mona Lisa.

The museum is enormous, so it's a good idea to plan your visit in advance and decide which galleries you want to explore. Even spending an entire day isn't enough to see everything. The museum is home to world-famous masterpieces, including the *Mona Lisa*, the *Venus de Milo*, and the *Winged Victory of Samothrace*. Beyond these iconic works, every gallery is filled with fascinating paintings, sculptures, and historical artifacts from different civilizations and time periods. The glass pyramid at the entrance is an attraction in itself and makes for beautiful photographs. Inside, the museum is well organized, although it can become very crowded, especially around the most famous artworks. Arriving early or booking tickets in advance can help make your visit smoother. There are cafés, restaurants, gift shops, and clean restrooms throughout the museum, making it convenient for visitors. Comfortable shoes are essential because you'll be walking a lot. Overall, the Louvre offers an unforgettable cultural experience. Its vast collection, rich history, and breathtaking architecture make it one of the world's greatest museums and an absolute highlight of any trip to Paris.

Visiting the Louvre Museum was an amazing experience! 🤩 Seeing all the stunning architecture and incredible paintings from renowned artists, some over 500 years old, was truly magical. ✨ It's great that entry is free, just remember to book your tickets in advance. I had high hopes returning to the Louvre for a second visit, but unfortunately this time the experience was more frustrating than magical. There are, of course, extraordinary works here. Winged Victory of Samothrace was magnificent, as was the Venus de Milo, and Liberty Leading the People was a highlight. Even with the crowds, these masterpieces were worth seeking out. The Mona Lisa, however, was another story. With the enormous crowd packed in front of such a surprisingly small painting, we really couldn’t get close enough to appreciate it. I actually found the enormous painting directly across from her fascinating—the contrast in scale between the two works is almost an attraction in itself! The timed-entry system worked well and we didn’t have much of a wait getting inside, which was a definite plus. I also really enjoyed being outside the museum—the beautiful courtyard and pyramid, followed by a walk through the gardens, were some of my favorite parts of the visit. The Louvre unquestionably contains some of the world’s greatest art, but the sheer number of visitors made it difficult to actually experience some of it. I’m glad we returned and saw several wonderful works, but compared with my expectations—and my first visit—this one was a three-star experience. There are other museums like the Orsay that I’d recommend for a second trip to Paris.
