Mandai Explorer Pass

It’s been decades since I last visited the zoo; I hadn't been there since I was a kid. We finally returned during a staycation at the resort, visiting both the Singapore Zoo and River Wonders, and the overall experience was actually pretty good. The Mandai Wildlife Reserve is now made up of five core parks, and honestly, if you're a tourist in Singapore with time to spare, it’s worth planning a day to explore a few of them. I’ll probably return in the future to try out the new Rainforest Wild (both the West and East sides) as well as the Bird Paradise. It’s a solid way to spend a day.

I decided to do all 5 parks in one day with their special entrance ticket. And man was it crazy. I ended up walking over 27km. I don't really have a single bad thing to say about them. The spaces are huge for the animals. They are well cared for and look healthy. There was not one moment where I felt uncomfortable because an animals seemed distressed which is rare in zoo-type situations. They have a lot of friendly keepers who are extremely knowledgeable and willing to engage in conversation about animals. I had an absolutely brilliant time! The tickets for the night safari were a bit confusing. I booked for 7:15 but they allowed me to enter at 6:30. I don't really understand what the time slots were about.

One of the best wildlife experiences in Asia! From Singapore Zoo to Night Safari and Bird Paradise, everything is thoughtfully planned. Clean pathways, helpful staff, and excellent transport connectivity. The night safari was magical. Highly recommended when visiting Singapore

My visit to Mandai Wildlife Reserve was with my family of 4, with 2 kids aged 4&9. 4 Parks, 20k Steps. If you’re planning a trip to the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, here is the "boots-on-the-ground" reality of trying to tackle it in a day. 5 Parks, 1 Day is not ideal. The reserve is impeccably maintained. The 1-day pass for all 5 parks is great value for the money, but let’s be realistic—covering all five is a marathon, not a stroll. Even with a fast pace, we managed to hit 4 out of 5 parks (skipping Wildlife Asia) and felt the rush. If you want to actually see everything without sprinting, you might want to pick your "must-sees" early. A 2 day pass is actually worth and should be made available. If you have a child under 4, do not attempt this without renting a stroller or a pull cart. The amount of walking is significant. Your legs (and your kid's temperament) will thank you. The rental stations are well-organized and worth every penny. Almost every park is a "must-visit." The enclosures are world-class, the animals seem well-cared-for, and the overall atmosphere is top-tier. Whether it’s the Zoo or River Wonders, you’re getting exactly what you paid for a beautiful, immersive experience. My order of visit was zoo>river wonders> shuttle to Mandai west> bird park > visiting wildlife Asia entrance > shuttle back to east > night safari. Now for the honest part: The Night Safari felt like overkill. Personally, it felt overhyped and didn't quite live up to the reputation. You spend a massive amount of time waiting in a grueling queue just for a tram ride to see a few animals in the dark. If you absolutely must go, do not book the 7:15 PM slot. It is the peak of the crowd chaos. Go for the later slots when the madness has died down, or skip it entirely and spend more time enjoying the daytime parks. The restaurant in Singapore zoo was too good. Finally it’s an awesome destination for anyone who can make the trip. Just wear your best walking shoes and manage your expectations for the night portion!

One of the best zoos I’ve ever visited. We bought the 5 park ticket over 5 days access and so glad we did because you can do 1-2 attractions a day max. Each one can be a full day on its own (Zoo, Birds of Paradise, River Wonders, Rainforest Wild, and the Night Safari). It is more a wildlife reserve than zoo. Highly recommend the 5 park pass - totally worth it! And make sure you visit each park as they each have their own amazing attractions.
