The Musée Marmottan Monet is a charming art museum housed in a beautiful old building, featuring an impressive collection of Impressionist artworks. Although it is a relatively small museum, it left a strong impression on me. Many of the pieces are beautiful, especially the works by Claude Monet, which are truly the highlight of the visit. The atmosphere is peaceful and intimate, allowing you to appreciate the artworks at a relaxed pace. It was a wonderful way to spend a quiet afternoon, surrounded by beautiful paintings and a calm museum atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone who loves Impressionist art, especially Monet.

A nice place to enjoy art away from the crowds of the larger museums. This museum is located a little outside of the main tourist part of Paris, in a relatively quiet area of town. We went on a weekday in June and had no wait to enter. We were able to leisurely tour the museum and enjoy the displays in a uncrowded setting. At the time of our visit, the museum was featuring the art of Giovanni Segantini, whose work I enjoyed. There is a nice collection of Monet on the basement level. It took us about 11/2 hours to tour the museum.

This is a small and beautiful museum. Of course the focus of the museum are the Monet paintings. It's not that crowded like the other museums, so you're have time to enjoy your visit. Specially, the postal cards at the bookstore are beautiful and affordable. Have a look at them :)

The Musée Marmottan was a very beautiful and peaceful experience for us . Not much wait to get the tickets . I somehow expected more Monet paintings than what I saw , maybe some were on loan ? The temporary exhibits of G. Segantini was a very nice discovery and the house itself had some beautiful furniture display . There was no rush and plenty of time to admire all exhibits , after which we enjoyed the nice outdoor cafeteria in the garden . The only thing I disliked was the " Disneyland" exploitation of paintings on show at the Museum' shop . The " Nympheas" on plastic flip flops ! That was way too much !

Many know of the more famous museums in Paris like Musee L’Orangerie and Musee D’Orsay but this place is a hidden gem that is definitely worth visiting if you like Monet. Along the west side of Paris, this was a country lodge owned by the Marmottan family later bequeathed to the art institute and later turned into a museum. The place is wonderfully curated with many of Monet’s painting of his home and garden in Givenchy, some paintings not publicly displayed until after his death. In addition to Monet, there are also works from Berthe Morisot, a fellow impressionist and random works from other artists (including 12 and 13th century polyptychs and illuminations) that were part of the Marmottan family collection and items bequeathed to the art institute. You can spend a good 1-1.5 hours here and come away with getting a good feel for what it must look like in Monet’s garden. If you’re into impressionistic art, this is a must do.
