This is a must-do activity! I highly recommend taking the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car instead of the bus. While the bus is cheaper and good for people who are afraid of heights, it takes much longer, about 50 to 60 minutes. The mountain roads are also very winding, which can make some people feel dizzy. My husband and I rode the Crystal Cabin to see the Big Buddha on our last trip. Since it was our daughters' first time in Hong Kong, we really wanted them to try it, too. They do have regular cabins without clear floors, but none of us are scared of heights, so we happily chose the glass-bottom one. We bought our tickets early on Klook. It was much cheaper than buying them at the gate. We also chose to visit on a weekday, which was a great choice because it was not crowded at all. I still remember our last visit ten years ago was super packed, and people had to wait in huge lines just to get on. The cable car ride takes about 25 minutes each way. We only bought a one-way ticket this time because we wanted to visit Tai O Fishing Village afterward. It was a fun, smooth, and beautiful 25-minute ride. We loved looking down at the green hills, seeing waterfalls, and watching the Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery come into view. Surprisingly, it was not hot at all, and it felt pretty cool up there on the mountain. It was truly amazing!

Definitely pay for the crystal cabin if the lines are too long to board the cable car. Glass bottom is ok but beating the crowd is better. Big Buddha is why everyone goes to Lantau Island. It's massive and probably one of the largest bronze monuments in HK or China. You can also opt to take the hiking trail which will take an hour with moderate walking speed, but you also get a great view and terrific photo ops.

Windy and a bit scary due to the weather but overall great experience. The cable car takes approx 20-25 min to the top. Clear cabin is a great way to see all surroundings.

This is a must for anyone visiting Hong Kong. The cable car network spans nearly six kilometres across spectacular landscapes. It was so beautiful it almost felt unreal. The village, monastery and big Buddha are beautiful, and also felt a bit surreal. It was a unique experience I’ll remember forever. If you’re transiting through Hong Kong, it’s well worth organising a stopover just to experience the cable car ride and visit Ngong Ping.

A great experience to ride this 360 cable car. We went here on a Monday afternoon and there’s almost no line at all. The ride would take like 20 mins to Ngong Ping Village. Spectacular view by the way ☺️
