The restrooms are clean and well maintained, although there are no bidet sprays in the toilet stalls. There is a dedicated mother-and-baby room. The airport staff are very friendly and always welcoming with a smile. However, if you book a ride through a ride-hailing app at a reasonable fare to travel to nearby hotels, you will need to walk out to the main road to meet your driver. These vehicles are not allowed to pick up passengers directly at the airport exit.

Phuket International Airport — Immigration Services Require Urgent Attention Having recently travelled through Phuket International Airport with my family during the last week of March 2026, I feel compelled to share an honest account of our experience — one that, regrettably, fell significantly short of expectations. While Phuket itself, along with the broader Thailand tourism experience, continues to impress, the airport's immigration infrastructure is in dire need of a comprehensive overhaul. On Arrival: We endured an approximately two-hour wait in the immigration queue, with only 3–4 counters staffed out of what appeared to be 20+ available booths. For a family travelling with young children, this was an exhausting and frustrating ordeal that could easily have been mitigated with better resource allocation. On Departure: The situation was, if anything, worse. There was a near-complete absence of queue management — no clear signage, no crowd control measures, and no visible staff to guide the thousands of passengers waiting in disorganised lines. Families with children faced particular difficulty, including limited access to restroom facilities during what amounted to a 2–3 hour wait. There was no visible complaints mechanism, no helpline, and no officials available to assist or escalate concerns. Final Thoughts: Phuket and Krabi remain among the most beautiful destinations in Southeast Asia, and I would return without hesitation. However, the immigration experience at this airport gives serious pause. I sincerely hope the airport authorities take note of this — and the likely hundreds of similar reviews from fellow travellers this season — and implement meaningful improvements to queue management, counter staffing, and passenger support systems. The destination deserves an arrival and departure experience worthy of its reputation.

Small but effective and comfortable airport. Decent food options. Wifi worked. Overall it seems well managed. Some of the signage could be more consistently use across the terminals. Finding our car rental was hard for example. Turned out to be in a different terminal, which is just next door, but navigating this over uneven pavements with luggage trolleys is hard. We used wheelchair assistance and it worked well.
