Tower of London Entrance Tickets

A great tour that could take 3 hours if you want to. It was even enough to keep my 11 and 8 year old entertained for the whole journey, even though it was scorching hot. Would very much recommend going through the white tour and chapel. You could skip the bloody tower, but the wall was enjoyable and a lot of interactive exhibits.

We did a self-guided visit and booked tickets online when we arrived as I couldn't find ticket counter, I would definitely recommend booking tickets in advance. Luckily only few people were ahead of us as it was weekday. I expect it will be empty but it was full of school students. I would say you would need three hours or more if you want to see everything properly and have a small rest. When we entered we were greeted by volunteers or staffs to guide us as we had a pram. It's not a pram friendly place but they do have few areas where you can leave your pram. It's totally understandable as it is a symbol of British history and royal heritage which they want to keep them as original as it is. One of the most interesting and must see area is crown jewel. I would recommend seeing it first in the morning as it's gets busier and you are not allowed to take any pictures inside. It's mesmerizing to see precious collection of royal regalia from history times to the jewels which is still gets used during coronation. White tower is an experience but it consists of 100s of steps which is challenging for disabled or family with children. Overall it's a must see place and have lots of things to see and do.

Really amazing range of historical collections here. From learning about the life and times of kings and queens, learning the history of London, seeing the Arms & Armor, climbing the ramparts, seeing the Crown Jewels… it was amazing. My son and I both really enjoyed! Would highly recommend.

The Tower of London is a secure fortress, royal palace, and an infamous prison all wrapped in one. You can see the Crown Jewels up close, meet the legendary Yeoman Warders, as well as the ravens! The Crown Jewels have been stored and displayed at the Tower of London since 1661. This collection of world-famous gemstones are part of the Royal Collection and include items that are still used in royal ceremonies today! Since they are part of the Royal Collection, it is under armed guards. Not only that, but video and photography are strictly forbidden, as are all Royal Collections and areas throughout the UK. As for the Yeoman Warders, they are the royal bodyguards. Also known as the "Beefeaters", they have long been symbols of London and Britain. The Yeoman Warders have been guarding the Tower of London since the Tudor period and are now recruited from the armed forces. However, included in their protective duties, they also serve as wonderful guides, sharing key stories from history regarding the Tower as a fortress, palace, and prison. You can also learn more about the prisoners who entered through Traitors' Gate and how William the Conqueror built the White Tower. All in all, the Tower of London is a fascinating fortress and World Heritage site that you should definitely check out. It is quite large, so you should plan to spend some time here. You are free to roam around at your own leisure, but I would recommend joining a Yeoman Warders's tour if you are inclined to learn more about the rich history of the Tower!

Great history tour, lots to explore. Definitely get to the crown jewels early as the queues build up very quickly. The armouries café was OK but too many long tables for the space. The blueberry muffin was good but the tea was poor in taste. The other thing that is really odd is, it was pouring with rain when we visited. They had I tent with a lady saying have you got hot tickets ready. There were a lot of people with umbrellas and she says getting very upset with people with umbrellas. Another couple of tents to shelter under and take your umbrella down would have resolved her upset. The other thing it really lacks is places to sit inside. There is a lot to explore and if it's raining, the benches outside are wet. Inside the buildings, there is a real lack of places to sit and have 2 minutes to rest your feet, especially if you are a little bit older. Overall, the Tower of London is well worth a visit, just a bit of thought and planning required by the organisers.
