The Duong Dong area is clean and feels chill and local, with few tourists around. The beach at Dinh looks like a place where locals take the kids to play. Kids play football around the open spaces too in the evenings. They are many local food stalls and streetside vendors too.

Phu Quoc is one of those places that quietly grows on you. Clean beaches, clear water, and a relaxed island vibe make it perfect for both unwinding and exploring. From peaceful shores like Sao Beach to fun experiences like the Hon Thom cable car and water parks, there’s a nice balance of calm and activity. The island is developing fast, so you’ll find good resorts, local markets, and plenty of food options—from simple street eats to proper dining. At the same time, it still holds on to its natural charm.

Phu Quoc strikes a rare balance between high-end luxury and authentic island grit. Whether you’re here for a 48-hour escape or a week-long deep dive, it’s a destination that feels both accessible and exclusive. The Highlights North & Northwest of the Island: This area is heavily developed with major attractions and natural capes: VinWonders: Theme park located in the northwest. Grand World: Entertainment and shopping complex. Vinpearl Safari: Large wildlife conservation park. Ham Rong Cape: Located at the northernmost tip. Ganh Dau: A scenic area in the northwest corner. Rach Vem: Known as the "Starfish Beach" area. Central & East Coast The central region serves as the island's hub, while the east coast is more rugged and traditional: Phu Quoc Night Market: Located in the main town of Duong Dong. Dinh Cau: A historic temple and lighthouse on the central-west coast. Phu Quoc National Park: Dominates the central and northern interior. Tranh Stream: A popular waterfall and hiking spot in the central-east. Ham Ninh: A traditional fishing village on the east coast. Sim Wine & Bun Quay: Culinary specialties centered around the Duong Dong area. South & Southwest The southern end is the gateway to the archipelago and holds significant historical sites: Pearl Farm: Located along the southwest coast. Ho Quoc Pagoda: A large Zen Buddhist temple on the southeast coast. Sao Beach & Khem Beach: Famous white-sand beaches in the south. Phu Quoc Prison History Museum: A somber historical landmark near the southern tip. Sunset Town: A Mediterranean-style development near the cable car station. Hon Thom Cable Car Station: The starting point for the world's longest over-sea cable car. Southern Islands (An Thoi Archipelago) These islands are accessible via boat or the Hon Thom Cable Car: Thom Island: The main destination for the cable car, featuring a water park. Vang Island, Kim Quy Island, & May Rut Island: Popular spots for snorkeling and beach hopping. Mong Tay Island: Often called "Fingernail Island," known for its clear turquoise water.
