Evening Tour and Water Puppet Show

This is a must-see in Hanoi! If you have enough time, I highly recommend watching both Thang Long and Lotus. I was completely mesmerized by Vietnamese culture. Everything was so beautiful and wonderfully performed. This was one of the best shows I've ever seen, and I still can't believe how affordable it was. My daughter studies traditional Korean music, so she was deeply touched by the performance and admired how successfully Vietnam has preserved and showcased its cultural heritage. If you only have time for one show, I recommend Lotus. It offers more variety and is even more entertaining. Be sure to book in advance to get a front-row seat. I bought my tickets that morning and got front-row seats. I sat in the middle row for the Thăng Long show, and it wasn't as impressive as I expected. The performance was wonderful, but some audience members were very inconsiderate. They kept talking throughout the show and repeatedly kicked the back of my seat, which made it difficult to fully enjoy the performance.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first half. The second half was a bit more childish than I prefer, but that is also part of the Vietnamese performance culture, so I will only say that. It was an exceptional experience to see this performance style that I couldn't even comprehend until I saw it. The performers and musicians were top notch!

The Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre offers a very unique insight into Vietnamese culture and traditional storytelling. While it was not entirely my personal style of entertainment, I could truly appreciate the artistry, skill, and cultural significance behind the performance. The team also makes a genuine effort to help international visitors follow along despite the language barrier. It is definitely an interesting cultural experience for those wanting to learn more about Vietnamese traditions.

Good show. The show wasn't in english which did make it hard to understand but was still fun to watch. The show was 150.000 VD for VIP seats and 110.000 for normal seats. The lady at the reception where we bought tickets was a bit rude though.

Loved this puppet show compare to the one at Thanh Long. We really enjoyed the overall performance. We laughed so much at certain scenes. The surrounding of the theatre was also picturesque. Well done!
