Day 1

Forts, Palaces, and Bazaars

I can't believe we're finally here in Jaipur! It feels like we've been planning this trip forever. We took an early morning flight from Bombay to Jaipur. As soon as we landed, we went to our hotel, checked in and left straight for a tour of Forts.

We were so excited to see the elephants and ride on one too. We hired a guide to take us around for the day and he's been very helpful in pointing out all the different landmarks and telling us about the history of Jaipur.

We first went to see the Jal Mahal,Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal. They are both unique and beautiful. Especially the Hawa Mahal. Even in the scorching heat, you can feel the cold breeze inside the Mahal. I spent quality time with mom and she enjoys posing for pictures, she is a true showstopper.

Our next stop was Johri Bazaar. It is a famous jewellery market. I bought some jewellery for mom after she tried on a few pieces.

Finally, the moment we've all been waiting for, we get to go for our elephant ride. We slowly make our way up the Amer Fort. The views from the top are breathtaking and we even get to have a hot cup of chai from a street vendor.

Next, we went to see Jaigarh and Nahargarh Fort. These two forts are not very far from each other. But these two forts are exceptionally beautiful and you will love the history behind them. I decided to take mom for a nice meal and she really had a blast with the Rajasthani local food and I hope she learnt the recipe for the most famous food of Rajasthan which is the  Dal Bati Churma - so I can get to savour this once more!

Day 2

Fascinating Day Tour of Jaipur

It was our second day in Jaipur and we were determined to make the most of it. We started our day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel, then set out on a fascinating day tour of the city. Next, we visited the City Palace, home of the Maharaja of Jaipur. The palace was breathtaking, with its opulent halls and beautiful courtyards. We also got to see some of the personal belongings of the Maharaja, including his collection of stunning weapons and armour.

After that, we stopped at the Govind Devi Ji Temple, a beautiful Hindu temple dedicated to the god Vishnu. The temple was surrounded by a peaceful garden, and the atmosphere was incredibly serene.

Our next stop was Albert Hall, a stunning building that houses a museum of Rajasthani art and culture. We spent some time admiring the beautiful artwork on display and learning about the rich history of Jaipur.

Next, we visited the Birla Mandir, a beautiful Hindu temple made of white marble. The temple was absolutely stunning, but as it was hot weather, it was getting difficult to stand on the marble. So we only spent a few minutes there and left for our last stop.

Finally, we ended our tour at the Statue Circle, a large plaza in the centre of Jaipur. The plaza is home to a number of large statues, including one of the Maharaja of Jaipur. We spent some time taking photos and enjoying the view of the city from the plaza.

It was an absolutely fascinating day, and I'm so glad I had the chance to explore Jaipur in depth. I can't wait to see what the rest of our time in Jaipur has in store!

Day 3

Trip To The Famous Chokhi Dhani

Today was our third day here in Jaipur and we were up early and ready to explore. Our first stop was Chand Baori, an ancient stepwell that is said to be one of the deepest and largest in the world. We were fascinated by the steps and the water at the bottom and we spent some time exploring and walking around at a leisurely pace.

Next, we visited Sisodia Rani Bagh, a beautiful garden with fountains, flowers, and peacocks. After that, we went to Galtaji Monkey Temple, where there are monkeys everywhere! I had a blast playing with the monkeys and we even got to feed them.

After a busy morning, we took a break at World Trade Park, a modern shopping mall with restaurants and shops. We treated ourselves to some delicious Indian food and stopped for the local paan. In the afternoon, we went to Jawahar Circle, a large park with a beautiful fountain and tried to name the trees - of course mom is way better than me at that one!

Finally, we ended our day at Chokhi Dhani, a traditional Rajasthani village. The line for entry tickets was long and it took us around 1 hour to take the ticket and enter Chokhi Dhani. But it was worth the wait.

We loved watching the folk dances and trying out the delicious food. It was an unforgettable day, and we can't wait to come back and explore more of Rajasthan, such as Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Udaipur.
