Why Summer Is the Best Time to Visit Dubai (Yes, Really!)
Summer in Dubai is the best-kept secret. Fewer tourists, shorter queues and lower prices across hotels, activities and even flights. Dubai summer discounts roll in thick and fast from June through September. You will find luxury stays at half price, two-for-one restaurant deals and VIP experiences that are easier to book and cheaper than any other time of the year.
The heat might sound scary, but the city is built for it. I have lived in Dubai for over two years, including three full summers, and I can honestly say that some of my best memories were made during those long, sunny months. Malls are climate-controlled, public transport is fully air-conditioned, and most experiences are designed to run in the evenings when it’s cooler.
Make metro your best friend

Dubai’s public transport system is more than just efficient– it’s a traveller’s dream. The Dubai Metro connects major tourist attractions like Burj Khalifa, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Marina and even the airport.
You’ll want to get an NOL card, which works on metros, buses, trams and water taxis. It’s cheap, cashless, and saves you from flagging down expensive taxis.
Pro tip: Stay close to a metro station – it makes a huge difference to how much you see and spend.
Off the map must-visit places
Forget the standard top five lists, these spots offer a different side of Dubai, perfect for those visiting in the summer season.

Alserkal Avenue
Located in Al Quoz, a short ride from the Noor Bank Metro Station by taxi or bus, this arts district is filled with independent galleries, art shows, cafés and cultural talks. It’s the opposite of Dubai's glitter, and that's why creatives love it. Go in the late afternoon when events and pop-ups start coming alive.
The Green Planet
This tropical oasis inside City Walk (just a 5-minute drive or short taxi from Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro Station) is a fully immersive biodome. Walk among sloths, toucans, and butterflies in a real rainforest environment. Ideal for kids and curious adults.
Museum of the Future
Right next to Emirates Towers Metro Station, this stunning architectural wonder explores AI, space travel, climate change and more through immersive exhibits. Book in advance, as tickets sell fast- even in summer. The building itself is a photo-op you don’t want to miss.
Al Fahidi Historical District
A short walk from the Al Fahidi Metro Station, this charming heritage area is made up of coral-stone houses, museums and quiet courtyards. Visit the Coffee Museum, stroll through the art galleries, and take a traditional abra boat across the creek for just 1 AED.
Love Lake, Al Qudra
Around 40 minutes by car from the city centre (best accessed via rental or taxi), this heart-shaped lake is a peaceful desert escape. Visit early morning or around sunset to avoid the heat. Pack snacks and water, as facilities are minimal- but the views are unreal.
Cool plans for hot days
Dubai’s outdoors are magical, even in the summer- just avoid the peak sun and choose smart experiences.

Kite Beach (for Sunrise Vibes)
Located near Jumeirah, and best reached by taxi early in the morning, Kite Beach is ideal for sunrise walks, beach yoga, or fresh juice at Salt food trucks. The cool sea breeze before 8 AM is honestly refreshing.
Night Desert Safari (Dunes Under the Stars)
Book a night safari with hotel pickup. These start after 5 PM and include camel rides, dune bashing, barbecue dinners, and live entertainment. The cooler desert temperatures at night make it one of the most memorable summer experiences in Dubai.
Dubai Fountain Boardwalk (Front-Row Magic)
Attached to the Dubai Mall, this floating boardwalk lets you watch the fountain show up close, without the usual crowd. Walkable from Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro Station. Shows run every 30 mins from 6 PM till late and it’s even better after dark.
The Burj’s hidden experiences

Yes, the observation deck at Burj Khalifa is iconic, but there is more to explore. Skip the peak tourist crowd and book a table at the Atmosphere Lounge on the 122nd floor. You will enjoy the same breathtaking views with gourmet drinks or lunch and often for a similar or even better price than the ticket itself. And if you’re serious about maximising your trip, don’t miss the Observation Deck at 300.Also, explore the Burj Park behind the tower, perfect for a quiet walk or bike ride around the lake. From there, catch the fountain show from a different angle or head to the Dubai Opera nearby for evening performances.
Eat like a local
Dubai’s food scene is best enjoyed off the main roads.Once, I met a solo traveller from Italy at a shared table in Satwa, both of us elbow-deep in naan and curry. Between bites, she said, “I thought I came to Dubai for the skyline, but I stayed for the food.” Couldn’t agree more.

Here are the spots I kept going back to: Here's where I went back again and again:
Ravi’s Restaurant, Satwa
A local legend. Get a cab or bus to Satwa and try their chicken handi or mutton kebabs with hot naan. Open till late, cheap, and always packed with Dubai’s real foodies. The food is bold, soulful, and straight out of the subcontinent. There’s no frills– just sizzling grills, fast service, and flavours that stick with you long after.
Bu Qtair, Jumeirah
A seafood shack near Fishing Harbour 2 in Umm Suqeim. Pick your fish, they grill it with masala, and serve it with rice. You will sit outdoors, eat with your hands and love every bite! It’s rustic and raw in the best way. The grilled hammour melts in your mouth, and the ocean breeze adds its own seasoning. No menu, no stress– just fresh fish and fire.
Project Chaiwala, Al Quoz
Hidden in the back of Cinema Akil, this fusion tea shop serves karak chai and street food with a modern twist. Easy to reach via Al Quoz by car or a short taxi from Noor Bank Metro. The karak hits like a warm hug, and their street bites are comfort food with a creative edge. The vibe is laid-back, artsy and full of hidden stories!
Shop Like a Pro in Dubai This Summer
I still remember walking out of The Dubai Mall with shopping bags in one hand and a cold karak in the other. Right beside me, a family from the UK was laughing over their receipt– they had just bought designer shoes for half the price back home. That’s when it really hit me: Dubai in the summer isn’t just hot... It's a hot deal. If you love a good bargain (and who doesn’t?), this is the season you don’t want to miss.

Dubai Summer Surprises
From June through early September, every major mall joins the party. Think up to 75% off across The Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates and City Centre Mirdif. Beyond the markdowns, DSS comes with daily surprises like raffle draws where you could walk away with everything from shopping vouchers to a brand-new car. It’s the city’s way of saying, “thanks for braving the heat.”
The Outlet Village, Jebel Ali
A short drive or cab ride from central Dubai, this Tuscan-style shopping village offers year-round outlet prices on brands like Armani, Coach, Michael Kors and more. The vibe is relaxed, indoors, and uncrowded– ideal for these high-end steals without the mall madness.
Gold & Perfume Souks, Deira
Hop on the metro to Al Ras and step into Old Dubai. These souks are a feast for the senses. You can bargain for gold by the gram, stock up on oud, spices, textiles, and local souvenirs. In the cooler evenings, the alleys buzz with energy. It’s the kind of place where you don’t just shop – you wander, smell, haggle and discover.
So, forget what you’ve heard– Dubai in summer is a win if you do it right. No crowds, huge savings, hidden gems, and unique experiences that most travellers miss.
My favourite hack? Last summer, I had cousins visiting from India, it was their first time in Dubai, and they wanted to do everything. I got them Alike’s Dubai Tourist Pass, and honestly, it saved us so much stress (and money). From the Museum of Illusions to the Dubai Frame and even a sunset dhow cruise– we skipped ticket lines, stayed on budget, and didn’t miss a thing.

If you're planning to see more of Dubai without the usual cost or chaos, this Pass is hands down the easiest way to do it.
But let’s be real, visa costs can be a buzzkill– especially when you're this close to booking that perfect Dubai summer getaway. But here’s some good news: Alike is giving away FREE DUBAI VISAS when you book a holiday package. Travel by 30 September 2025. That’s around ₹7,000 saved before your trip even begins.
So what can you do with that cash instead? How about diving into House of Hype, a mind-bending digital playground in Dubai Mall where tech, art and street culture collide? Or sip camel milk coffee at The Majlis, float across the Creek in a 1-dirham abra, or get lost in the spice souk’s fragrant maze?
And do you know: all of those, combined, still cost less than a visa!
