Explore the Emirates' rich cultural legacy through a visit to the iconic Qasr Al Hosn, Abu Dhabi's oldest stone building with over 230 years of history. Dive deep into the political and historical development of Abu Dhabi as you delve into the evolving narrative of the palace, from its origins as a watchtower to its present-day significance. Traverse the enchanting exhibitions that unveil the Inner Fort and Outer Palace, allowing you to discover the ancestral home of the Al Nahyan ruling family and the very heart of Abu Dhabi's symbolism. Enjoy complimentary access to the House of Artisans and Cultural Foundation.

Abu Dhabi’s oldest standing structure stands as a commanding figure amidst the glittering skyline. When you see it in person, it’s a beautiful blend of the past and present.

Qasr Al Hosn, built in the 1790s, once served as the home of the ruling family. It also housed the National Consultative Council, founded by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s founder. In 2018, after a decade of intensive conservation and delicate restoration, the Al Hosn fort was transformed into a museum—a true time capsule.

As you step inside, you’ll encounter the Inner Fort (constructed in 1795) and the Outer Palace (built between 1939-45). Gaze up at the original watchtower—the same one that once overlooked coastal trade routes when Abu Dhabi was a small fishing village. Exploring every corner of Qasr Al Hosn is a delightful experience, whether you’re soaking up the UAE capital’s fascinating history or marveling at artifacts and archival materials dating back 6,000 years. And for children, it’s an adventure waiting to unfold—a perfect setting for storytime!

Today, Al Hosn Palace stands as a living memorial to a bygone era, reflecting Abu Dhabi’s rich history.
